One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky floated scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonging to him, the other to the Lord. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it. “LORD you said once I decided to follow you, you’d walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don’t understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.” The Lord replied, “My precious, precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you”.

I am home in Heaven dear ones, Oh! so happy and so bright, There is perfect joy and beauty, In this everlasting light. All the pain and grief is over, Every restless tossing passed, I am now at peace forever, Safely home in Heaven at last. Did you wonder I so calmly, Trod the valley of the shade? Oh! but Jesus' love illumined, Every dark and fearful glade. And He came himself to meet me, In that way so hard to tread, And with Jesus' arm to lean on, Could I have one doubt or dread. Then you must not grieve so sorely, For I love you dearly still, Try to look beyond earth's shadows, Pray to trust Our Father's will. There is work still waiting for you, So you must not idly stand, Do it now while life remaineth, You shall rest in Jesus' land. When the work is all completed, He will gently call you Home, Oh, the rapture of that meeting, Oh, the joy to see you come.

Life is but a stopping place, A pause in what’s to be. A resting place along the road, To sweet eternity. We all have different journeys, Different paths along the way, We all were meant To learn some things, But never meant to stay… Our destination is a place, Far greater than we know, For some, the journey’s quicker, For some, the journey’s slow.
